Skills, Enterprise and Employment Analysis 2007/8

The Analysis is first and foremost about skills, but the RSP also has a brief in relation to enterprise and the extent to which this impacts on workforce development and the improvement in the demand for skills. Reflecting the previous FRESA priority around employment and in view of the new responsibilities that RSPs have in relation to the European Social Fund, the analysis also covers employment issues.

The scope of the analysis has been agreed by the partnership, through the RSP Board and the project Steering Group.

The scope covers:

  • The learning and skills agenda from 14-19 issues through to the adult workforce
  • All skill/ qualification levels (from basic skills to higher level skills)
  • All provision for skills and employment development –with a particular focus on that which is publicly funded (especially the LSC, Jobcentre Plus, SWRDA, and Higher Education)
  • Detailed analysis and modeling of sectors
  • Employment priorities
  • Business development issues which are directly skills or workforce development related
