1 Estimates are calculated on either a residence or workplace basis. Residence-based allocate of income of commuters to where they live, workplace allocates incomes to place of work. Only the estimates for London, the South East and East of England are different. From the Census 2001 it is determined that net commuting between regions is not significant enough to affect the data (ONS, Regional GVA - Article, Dec 2004).
