Case studies 1-8 provide examples of good practice in the teaching and learning of generic employability skills in schools, further education, voluntary organisations and work-based learning programmes in the South West.

Case studies 9-11 focus on developments in the school sector which are designed to address the widespread concerns about an apparent lack of the generic skills required in the workplace amongst school leavers.

Case Study 12 focuses on an innovative programme that has developed the UK’s first performance based assessment system for measuring and certifying learners’ social, emotional and behavioural skills.
