About Us

The Skills and Learning Intelligence Module (SLIM) was established in January 2001, following extensive consultation with regional partners. It is funded by the South West Regional Development Agency and the European Social Fund and is a module of the wider South West Regional Observatory.

SLIM provides research, intelligence and analysis on skills, learning and employment issues. We work closely with policy makers, funders and practitioner networks, providing the evidence base for policy and practice. SLIM provides a range of services including:

SLIM is delivered by the Marchmont Observatory at the University of Exeter.
