4.13 Participation and provision

In this section, we look at participation in learning across the age groups. The extent to which the current and potential workforce engages in learning is critical if current and future skills demand is to be met. We are indebted to the work undertaken by the LSC in producing the South West LSC Strategic Analysis, extracts of which form the bulk of this section on provision and participation. In addition, information on HE has been produced with the support of HEFCE, further details on which is available in a SLIM Working Paper on Higher Education.
